Kailasa CD Review - Mingo
This album is in a bit different direction for Mingo. Certainly there is a touch of his classic space/ambient sound, but missing are the epic 10 to 20 minute deep space tracks. This album is a collection of more rhythmic and melodic songs. While the synthesizer is present, it lays down a foundation and takes a back seat to tribal percussion, guitars, pipes and the didgeridoo.
If you're a fan of Mingo, by all means this album is a must to add to your collection. While it may not take you on a sonic journey to the outer reaches of space, it will take you on an inner meditative, relaxing journey, to faraway forgotten lands. A trip you will find yourself wanting to take again and again.
